As a new week unfolds, Wests Tigers find themselves amid fresh turmoil.
With the contentious Lachlan Galvin issue finally behind them, the Tigers are now facing the challenge of keeping hold of one of their most promising talents.
Starford To’a, their standout player in last weekend’s defeat to the Cowboys with an impressive two tries, has left fans questioning his future with the club.
This week saw reports suggesting that To’a, who is set to enter the open market on November 1, was primed to renew his contract with the Tigers.

No sooner had Tigers fans begun to relax than To’a took to social media with an alarming post.
He simply stated: “All rumours,” via Instagram.
This succinct message strongly hints that the agile centre is considering entering the open market, adding further concern for Tigers supporters and executives alike.
To’a has consistently been a standout performer in a struggling Tigers team over recent seasons, making him a sought-after asset if the club fails to secure his services until 2027 before the November deadline.
‘LUCK’ ESSENTIAL FOR WARRIORS RECRUIT
The resurgent Warriors have made a shrewd addition in English talent Morgan Gannon for the upcoming season who will be looking for a turn of fortune in the NRL.
At just 21, the Leeds forward has endured a tough time with concussions, which caused him to miss the entire 2024 season.
While Gannon seems to have overcome these challenges, medical staff continue to keep a watchful eye on him.
Leeds were disappointed to part ways with the promising forward, who represented England Knights in 2021—the British equivalent of the NRL’s Prime Minister’s XIII.
The Warriors are eager for him to help fill the gap left by Dylan Walker’s mid-season departure to the Eels.

FORMER AFL PROSPECT SHINING WITH PANTHERS
The Liddiard name holds a prominent spot in Sydney’s western suburbs, and it might soon be making headlines again.
David Liddiard was a star for both Parramatta and Penrith during the 1980s, with his brother Glen also leaving a mark.
Now, Glen’s son Jirah is making waves in the Panthers’ lower grades.
The agile 21-year-old outside back possesses the same speed and flair as his father and uncle, making a significant impact in the Flegg Cup.
A talented athlete, he was courted by AFL club Greater Western Sydney a couple of years ago before opting to follow his family’s legacy in rugby league.
ROOSTERS LOOK TO FAMILY LINEAGE
Another familiar name in rugby league is Brett Rodwell, the headgeared centre who starred for Illawarra Steelers in the 1990s and also represented New South Wales once in State of Origin.
His two sons have signed with the Roosters, with one pushing for a spot in the NRL.
Tom, a 23-year-old winger, scored four tries in the NSW Cup last weekend, bringing his tally to 13 tries in just 12 appearances for 2025.
With Dom Young expected to depart the Roosters for a return to the Knights soon, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Trent Robinson promote the rookie into the first-grade squad.
Younger brother Toby, a halfback, is also making strides towards securing a top 30 contract with the Roosters, and the siblings could very well share the field in the NRL in the near future.
