The captain of Melbourne Victory, Roderick Miranda, has described team-mate Daniel Arzani as the “most talented Australian player I have ever seen” in the Isuzu UTE A-League.
As the team ramps up for the much-anticipated Semi-Final first leg against the premiers Auckland FC at Go Media Stadium on Saturday, Miranda has lavished praise on Arzani.
Arzani has been in outstanding form for Victory, instrumental in their victory over Western Sydney Wanderers during the Elimination Final.

The Socceroos winger has been exceptional since Australia’s head coach Tony Popovic issued a challenge late last year, and the 26-year-old has not looked back, delivering a man-of-the-match performance against the Wanderers last week.

“Since Danny was called up for the Socceroos, something shifted in him,” Miranda remarked to reporters.
“I can’t say if it was a particular conversation with Popa or what, but he has returned with a different mindset and the results are speaking for themselves.
“His performance levels have skyrocketed. He’s finding himself in the play more, assisting and scoring goals – something he may have previously done well, but didn’t quite translate into numbers that reflected his quality.
“He’s now showcasing his talent, and every opposition fears him. That’s a big plus for us. He’s someone we rely on to hold the ball and create opportunities, which is invaluable.
“At the moment, he is definitely the standout player. I hope he maintains this form against Auckland.”
