Footage from inside France’s Stade de Toulouse captured the alarming moment a parachutist found himself suspended from the roof before the Champions Cup clash between Toulouse and Sale.
As part of a pre-game spectacle, the event featured three parachutists tasked with delivering the match ball.
While two of the parachutists landed safely on the pitch, the final one to take off, Captain Yannick Trouillet, was blown off course by a sudden gust of wind.

Trouillet’s parachute became entangled in the stadium’s roof awning, leaving him hanging approximately 30 metres above the ground.
Fans seated directly below Trouillet were swiftly evacuated while stadium staff coordinated a rescue.
Anticipating a potential emergency, a large inflatable was brought in and deployed underneath him.

The kick-off was postponed by 40 minutes as emergency services used a cherry picker to retrieve Trouillet and free him from his tangled parachute.
“That was a bit hectic,” remarked Sale captain Ben Curry.
“I hope he’s okay. I’m guessing they won’t be attempting that again any time soon.
“It’s a bit of a French experience, isn’t it? Coming here, we were aware that there would be numerous challenges, and this incident added another one. We were prepared for a tough day, but I didn’t think we’d face something quite like that.”
