Christian Eriksen, the Manchester United midfielder, has expressed his desire to move on from the Premier League as he prepares to depart the club.
The Danish international is set to become a free agent, with his contract with United concluding at the end of this month.
Since joining the Red Devils in 2022, Eriksen has made 107 appearances and netted eight goals.
The 33-year-old bid farewell to Old Trafford on the last day of the season, marking an emotional exit after three seasons at the club.
In an interview with Danish channel TV 2 Sport, Eriksen shared his hope to move beyond the Premier League, wishing to explore opportunities outside England after a career spent at clubs like Brentford, Tottenham, and United.
“At the moment, there’s nothing concrete. There’s interest from various places, but I’m not close to signing anything yet.
“My focus is on playing for my country and then enjoying a good summer break.
“We’ll see how long that break lasts. I’d prefer to leave the Premier League.
“I feel I’ve had my time in the Premier League, so I’m looking beyond the English borders.
“It’s been a wonderful experience for my family and me, and we’ve spent many years there.
“When I transitioned from Tottenham to Inter, the plan was not to return to England. After three-and-a-half years back, it’s hard to say never, but my priority is to move on.”
As Eriksen’s contract approaches its end this month, despite having interest from several clubs, his immediate focus remains on representing Denmark in their upcoming matches against Northern Ireland and Lithuania.
After these fixtures, he will make decisions regarding his future, which he aims to pursue outside the Premier League as he enters the later stages of his career.
