Western Sydney Wanderers standout Zac Sapsford has made an exhilarating move to Scotland, signing a three-year contract with Dundee United.
The Wanderers have received an ‘undisclosed transfer fee’ for the 22-year-old, who had a breakout season in the Isuzu UTE A-League, netting eight goals and providing four assists across 25 appearances.
Since transferring from a Sydney rival in 2022, Sapsford has made 48 appearances and scored 12 goals for the club in red and black. He has etched his name in club history with impressive displays in the Sydney Derby, making quite an impact against his former team, Sydney FC.

“He’s an agile forward with a sharp instinct for scoring, capable with both feet and his head. He also possesses the intelligence to synergise effectively with his teammates,” commented Dundee manager Jim Goodwin on the club’s official site.
“We believe he’s a player who will thrill our fans and deliver in crucial moments due to his mentality and proven record in pressure situations.”
“Zac quickly aligned himself with our vision for his future and development. I’m eager to closely observe his growth during his time with us,” he added.
Dundee’s Head of Recruitment, Ross Goodwin, remarked: “Zac caught our attention through our internal data models, which is where our interest began.”
“He made a significant impression during our follow-up which utilised traditional scouting methods. The integration of these modern processes with conventional scouting will be essential as we look to identify new talent throughout the summer and onwards.”
“We faced fierce competition from around the globe to secure his signature, so we’re extremely pleased to finalise the deal so early in the transfer window. We look forward to introducing more exciting new signings soon.”
Sapsford is now set to compete in the Europa Conference League this season, with Dundee United earning their place by finishing fourth in the Scottish Premiership.
