Latrell Mitchell’s mother has voiced her frustration at the online bullies who she claims are making her son’s life “a never-ending torment”.
Patricia Goolagong reached out to Wide World of Sports to express her outrage at the negativity Mitchell faces on social media platforms.
This comes after Mitchell shared a photo of himself with his young son on his Facebook fan page, which attracted numerous inappropriate comments.
Confronting the offenders, Goolagong noted that some deleted their comments—ones that WWOS has opted not to publish—while others merely intensified their harassment.
“I’m absolutely fed up with these cowards who relentlessly attack my son, making his life a perpetual misery,” Ms Goolagong stated.

“These comments not only make his life difficult but bringing his young son into the mix is absolutely appalling. It sickens me, and I wish I could face these bullies in person to see how courageous they really are.”
RLPA head Clint Newton is aware of the harsh treatment Mitchell and other players receive online.
“Such behaviour is unacceptable, and we have collaborated with the NRL to establish a safe space for players to report online abuse—especially when criticism shifts from being constructive to outright harassment,” Newton shared with Wide World of Sports.

“Players can report incidents to our integrity unit, which will take the matter seriously and investigate. There should be no tolerance for personal attacks on players—it’s the most despicable form of criticism. In fact, NRLW players experience even more severe abuse compared to their male counterparts, which is incredibly unfortunate. Latrell has shown commendable courage in speaking out against online bullying.”
“Social media is an invaluable tool for our game, allowing players to engage with fans not only in Australia but across the globe. The fans are the ones who stand to lose out if players feel compelled to withdraw.”

According to an RLPA survey conducted last year, 67% of players who experience online abuse choose not to report the incidents, opting instead to ignore or block the offenders.
SECOND-GEN TEEN SIGNS WITH TIGERS
The nephew of former Samoan international Junior Moors has signed a deal with the Tigers and is set to join the club’s development squad next season.
Christian Taupau-Moors, who has made a name for himself with the Wests Magpies in the juniors, was pursued by several clubs but has signed a long-term contract through to the end of 2028.
The towering 18-year-old prop led the Magpies’ Harold Matthews Cup team to last year’s grand final and was also named in the Australian-based New Zealand under-17s squad at the conclusion of last season.
His uncle Junior had stints with the Panthers, Tigers, and Storm before heading to England.
CLASH OF ACCOUNTS OVER VEGAS ALTERCATION
An outcome regarding the incident in Las Vegas involving Warriors assistant coach Richard Agar and senior English journalist John Davidson is expected in the coming days.
Agar allegedly assaulted Davidson at the back of the press box in Las Vegas when their paths crossed unintentionally.
The NRL integrity unit is currently reviewing CCTV footage from Allegiant Stadium and interviewing witnesses to the altercation.
The two parties have provided significantly different accounts of what transpired during half-time of the Raiders vs Warriors match.

Fantastic news for Newtown Jets supporters as the iconic Henson Park will receive a $20 million upgrade.
The Inner West Council, along with both the NSW and Federal governments, have pooled resources to fund enhancements, which will include improvements to the canteen, media facilities, and dressing rooms.
The upgrades will benefit not only rugby league but also the Swans’ women’s AFL team, which calls Henson Park home.
