A spectator was shown the door at Kogarah Oval on Saturday afternoon following an alleged homophobic outburst directed at referee Peter Gough during half-time.
As Gough made his way off the field during the Dragons-Storm match, he stopped to identify the individual to security personnel, who promptly escorted him from the venue.
A club official present in the tunnel, who requested anonymity, confirmed the incident to Wide World of Sports.
“It was rather surprising because the individual in question is a long-standing Dragons supporter who has attended matches for years,” the Dragons official stated.

Abusive comments directed at referee Peter Gough are set to be reported to the NRL Integrity Unit. NRL Imagery
“He shouted out, ‘Gough, you are a f—ing cheating [redacted homophobic slur]’, and the referee made eye contact with him before notifying security.
“They acted swiftly and had him removed from the ground immediately.”
