Port Adelaide coach Ken Hinkley has shared encouraging news regarding Ollie Wines’ condition after the former Brownlow Medalist was substituted during the match against the Swans.
Wines has had to leave three matches since 2022 due to a heart issue, but he has reported no lingering concerns following the latest incident against Sydney.
Hinkley stated that both the club and Wines are now equipped to manage any related complications effectively.

“Without going into too much detail about his individual health, it’s a managed situation that we handle effectively,” the coach mentioned on Wednesday.
“Ollie, crucially, is also well-informed about his condition.
“Even over the weekend, he was able to self-assess; he understands what’s happening with his body.
“What gives me confidence is that Ollie is fully aware and at ease with it. He’s certainly fit to continue playing the game.”
The heart irregularity that causes palpitations first emerged in 2022 for Wines.
Hinkley acknowledged that the initial incident was a surprise for Wines, but now it doesn’t trigger a major response.
“He’s well aware of what’s going on and isn’t overly concerned – it’s more about wondering why it has happened again,” Hinkley said.
“He has moved past it, and he receives excellent support from our medical team as well as his specialists.
“He feels comfortable, and I hope his family is equally at ease with the situation, which I believe is vital.”
Port Adelaide is scheduled to face North Melbourne on Saturday at 4:15 PM.
