Two player agents in the NRL have received show cause notices and are facing potential suspensions and fines due to alleged violations of the accredited agent scheme regulations.
The agents in question are Mario Tartak and Matthew Desira.
Tartak has been recommended for a 12-month suspension along with a $25,000 fine.

The breach notice alleges that he “communicated with a minor player without a parent or legal guardian present”.
“Additionally, the breach notice claims that Mr Tartak engaged in a commercial agreement with two NRL clubs, contravening the accredited agent scheme regulations,” the statement elaborated.
“The suggested penalty takes into account previous breach actions, which indicated that any future infringements could lead to suspension of accreditation.”
Tartak is the director of Crown Sports Management and his client roster includes Josh Schuster, Damien Cook, and Josh Addo-Carr.
Matthew Desira is the second agent involved, facing a proposed six-month suspension and a $10,000 fine.
“The breach notice pertains to non-reporting and dishonesty following police charges and court proceedings related to Mr Desira,” according to the NRL’s statement.
“Accredited agents must adhere to high personal and professional standards as outlined in the accredited agents’ code of conduct.”
Both agents have a period of five business days to respond to the show cause notices.
Desira is the head of Aria Management Group, representing players such as Jayden Campbell, Greg Marzhew, and Bronson Xerri. Notably, he also managed Benji Marshall during his playing career.
