The individual accused of stalking tennis sensation Emma Raducanu attempted to secure tickets to Wimbledon but was thwarted by the All England Club’s security measures, according to reports from British media on Tuesday.
Sources such as the BBC revealed that the man sought tickets through the public ballot for the prestigious Grand Slam event set to commence on June 30. His application was flagged due to prior concerns.
During the Dubai Championships in February, the man displayed “fixated behaviour” towards the 22-year-old Raducanu, causing her distress as she recognised him in the crowd during a match.

Just a day prior, he had sent her a letter and taken her photograph, causing distress to the 2021 US Open champion.
Upon spotting the man in the stands, Raducanu sought refuge behind the umpire’s chair during her second-round match against Karolina Muchova. She later admitted to the media that she “couldn’t see the ball through tears” and struggled to breathe before drawing the umpire’s attention.
The man was subsequently removed from the tournament. He was detained by police in Dubai and signed a document agreeing to maintain a distance from Raducanu, who is currently ranked No. 36 in the world.
In a conversation with the BBC following the incident, she expressed that it “could have been managed more effectively.”
“Since that event, I’ve definitely noticed an increase in attention and enhanced security,” the 22-year-old shared.
“I’m now extremely mindful and avoid doing things alone.”
“I’m usually accompanied by someone and under observation.”
The British tennis star has previously dealt with a stalker, with another individual receiving a five-year restraining order in 2022 for walking 37 kilometres to her residence.
