Leeds United have secured the signing of Lukas Nmecha on a free transfer, following the expiration of the Germany striker’s contract with Wolfsburg in July.
The 26-year-old, who has represented Germany on seven occasions, will mark Leeds’ first acquisition since their return to the Premier League.
Nmecha is set to join Daniel Farke’s squad on a two-year deal starting from July 1.
“After successfully overcoming competition from other clubs in the Premier League, everyone at Leeds United is eager to welcome Lukas to Elland Road,” stated the Yorkshire club.
The forward began his career at Manchester City, making his Premier League debut as a substitute against West Ham in April 2018.
He had loan spells at Preston, Wolfsburg, Middlesbrough, and Anderlecht before making a permanent move to Wolfsburg in a deal worth £11 million in 2021.
During his time with Wolfsburg, Nmecha made 73 appearances and netted 19 goals.
