Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal is set to renew his contract with the LaLiga side, extending his stay beyond 2026, confirmed his agent Jorge Mendes on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old, who earned the prestigious 2024 Golden Boy award after playing a pivotal role in Spain’s European Championship victory, has tallied 11 goals and contributed 16 assists in 35 games across all competitions for Barcelona this season.
A product of the famed Barca academy, Yamal has made 86 appearances for the Catalan club since he debuted in the senior team back in April 2023.
“Lamine is committed to continuing at Barca; the focus now should be on sporting matters,” Mendes remarked to Spanish media following a discussion with Barcelona president Joan Laporta in Lisbon.
This evening, Barcelona will face Portuguese club Benfica in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 clash.
