Jurgen Klopp is “extremely satisfied” in his current role at Red Bull, despite ongoing speculation regarding a potential return to management with Real Madrid, as stated by his agent on Friday.
The ex-Liverpool manager took up the position of Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull in January, overseeing a network of clubs including RB Leipzig, the New York Red Bulls, and Brazil’s Bragantino.
Following Real Madrid’s recent quarter-final exit from the Champions League at the hands of Arsenal, chatter surrounding the future of manager Carlo Ancelotti has intensified, suggesting he may depart at season’s end.
Reports in Germany have indicated that Klopp is among the candidates being considered by the famed Spanish club for the managerial position at the Bernabeu.
When queried about these speculations, his agent Marc Kosicke affirmed that the 57-year-old is relishing his new role.
“Jurgen is extremely satisfied with his new role at Red Bull,” Kosicke told Sky Deutschland.
In a separate statement, RB Leipzig’s coach Zsolt Low expressed his disbelief at the notion of Klopp moving to Real Madrid, emphasising that the German is “very happy in his job.”
Low commended Klopp’s influence, saying, “He’s demonstrated the ability to unite a club, bringing together a group of 40, 50, or 60 individuals, and inspiring them.”
He further noted, “He brings tremendous value with his experience, personal qualities, and energy.”
Throughout his impressive 23-year managerial career with Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Mainz, Klopp has left each club on his own terms, which is quite unusual in the world of coaching.
“No matter the circumstances, he’s given everything,” said Low, adding, “Wherever he’s been, he has committed fully to the role. It’s essential for him to ensure a graceful departure.”
Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso is viewed as a strong contender for the Real Madrid vacancy. The former Madrid player remarked on Friday that “now is not the right time” to delve into discussions about his future.
