The squads are set for Round 24 of the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
With the international break now concluded, a number of teams are dealing with injury setbacks. Wellington Phoenix has confirmed hamstring injuries for both Scott Wootton and Isaac Hughes, along with a calf issue affecting Paulo Retre, while their captain Alex Rufer will miss Round 24 due to a one-match suspension.
Furthermore, Melbourne Victory’s forward Clarismario Santos is ruled out for Saturday night’s Original Rivalry showdown against Adelaide United. Melbourne City will also be without Subway Socceroos star Mathew Leckie for their next two matches due to a moderate-grade calf strain sustained before the international break.
On a positive note for City, they have received confirmation that both German Ferreyra (concussion) and Yonatan Cohen (calf) are fit to play after missing their last outing, a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle Jets.
Current league leaders Auckland FC will be pleased to welcome back Nando Pijnaker and Louis Verstraete from suspension this weekend, as several internationals return from the break, ready to refocus on club duties.
Nine of the ten Socceroos from Isuzu UTE A-League clubs who were selected for World Cup qualifiers against Indonesia and China PR have been included in their club squads ahead of Round 24. New Zealand internationals Alex Paulsen, Jesse Randall, Logan Rogerson, Nando Pijnaker, Francis De Vries, Tommy Smith, Kosta Barbarouses, Tim Payne, Oli Sail, and Storm Roux are also set to return to A-League action following their contributions to the All Whites’ World Cup qualification.
