Fremantle clung on for a vital victory against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday night, securing four crucial points.
As they entered the final quarter, the Dockers had only 11 interchange rotations left and were down a player on the bench, with Luke Jackson (hamstring) ruled out and Corey Wagner (calf) substituted out.
The Bulldogs fought tirelessly to overcome a fatigued Fremantle side, but they managed just 2.3 for the quarter and failed to take full advantage of their territorial dominance, allowing the home team to claim a 15.7 (97) to 12.9 (81) victory.
Fremantle struggled to find the goals in the majority of the fourth term, but rookie midfielder Murphy Reid managed to kick the decisive goal in the dying moments.

Despite the win, Jackson’s hamstring issue could cast a shadow over the performance, although the club has not yet confirmed the severity of his injury. They are also hopeful that Sean Darcy will return soon to bolster their squad after a delayed start to the season.
The Bulldogs also faced their share of injury troubles, with Laitham Vandermeer substituted out due to a sore knee.
Midfielder Caleb Serong was once again outstanding, racking up 38 disposals and claiming 15 clearances.
For the Bulldogs, key forward Sam Darcy continued to shine, kicking five goals and accumulating 21 disposals.
Both teams are now set to travel to South Australia for the Gather Round, with Fremantle going up against Richmond and the Bulldogs facing off against Brisbane.
