During this season, the experienced defender served as Canberra’s captain on five occasions and was allocated heritage number 152.
Anton’s exit comes at a pivotal moment for Canberra, as the club aims for a top-six finish. Currently, United sit seventh on the ladder, just one point shy of the finals places with three matches remaining.
Canberra’s head coach, Antoni Jagarinec, expressed his gratitude to the Football Ferns defender for her contributions to the club, wishing her all the best as she embarks on a new challenge in Norway.
“Elizabeth made an immediate impact when she joined us at the start of the season and quickly established herself as a vital component of our defensive line over the course of nineteen matches,” Jagarinec remarked.
“As a respected member of the team, Liz became a firm favourite among fans and a true leader in the squad. This is reflected in her inclusion in our captaincy group and her role as captain when Michelle [Heyman] was unavailable.”
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to Liz for her contributions to Canberra United and wish her every success in Norway, as well as her future football career.”
