Queensland’s coach, Billy Slater, has made a shocking decision by dropping captain and halfback Daly Cherry-Evans ahead of the second game.
Cherry-Evans joins Beau Fermor as one of the two Maroons to be left out following their defeat in the State of Origin series opener held at Suncorp Stadium.
On Monday, Slater announced a squad of 20 players, with Tom Dearden set to take the field as halfback alongside Cameron Munster.
Kurt Capewell has received a call-up for the Origin team and is expected to start in the backrow, while Ezra Mam, Jack Howarth, and Corey Horsburgh have been included in the extended squad, all vying for potential debuts.

Kurt Mann may also make his Queensland debut in Perth next Wednesday, provided he comes through Monday’s game with Canterbury without any injuries.
