The Cowboys’ pair, Viliami Vailea and John Bateman, are set to receive suspensions for separate incidents that took place in the opening ten minutes of their defeat against Melbourne on Friday evening.
Vailea executed a controversial ‘chicken wing’ tackle on Storm powerhouse Nelson Asofa-Solomona during the first half.
Infuriated, Asofa-Solomona retaliated by throwing the Steeden at Vailea’s head as he stood back up.
Vailea has been hit with a grade two dangerous contact charge and faces a one-match suspension if he opts for an early guilty plea.

If Vailea contests the charge and is found guilty, he could face a two-match suspension.
Meanwhile, Bateman is also looking at a one-match suspension for a tripping incident involving Shawn Blore in the ninth minute of their match at AAMI Stadium.
If Bateman chooses to contest his charge and is unsuccessful, he too would face a two-game ban.
Additionally, Dolphins centre Herbie Farnworth has been charged with a careless high tackle and stands ready to receive a $1000 fine should he opt for an early guilty plea.
