Gold Coast Suns: We Embrace Pink on Game Day
The Gold Coast Suns are turning heads this Gather Round by donning pink.
In a groundbreaking move for the AFL, the team will sport a striking pink guernsey when they hit the field in the picturesque Barossa Valley this Saturday.
This unique design mirrors the club’s standard home guernsey, swapping the traditional red for pink, while charcoal takes the place of yellow in the fresh waveform logo.
This vibrant colour palette pays homage to the stunning pink skies often seen during Gold Coast sunrises.
“During Gather Round, we’ll be wearing pink,” the club announced in a post on their social media platforms.
“A first for the AFL; our new pink design celebrates the hues of the Gold Coast sunrise and signifies our transformation as a club — modern, nimble, and free from long-held traditions.”
This encounter against the Kangaroos will be notable not only for featuring the first-ever predominantly pink match jersey in the AFL but will also celebrate the inaugural match at Barossa Park.
