Hawks Star Anticipates Intense Showdown with Power: A Touch of Frustration

Prepare for a thrilling encounter this Sunday evening as Port Adelaide goes head-to-head with Hawthorn in a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s semi-final.

This clash marks the first meeting between the two sides since a heated exchange took place between Power coach Ken Hinkley and Hawks captain James Sicily following the final siren.

The incident featured Hinkley making an airplane gesture, suggesting that Hawthorn should fly back to Melbourne, while Sicily reportedly fired back with, “You have been a f—ing nowhere club for eight years.”

Hawthorn’s small forward Nick Watson has expressed a desire for some payback.

“We haven’t had the chance to discuss it yet, but it’s definitely something that lingers in our minds,” he told the media.

“If we’re in the lead, who knows what kind of outrageous celebrations could come out,” he mused.

The Hawks faced a tough blow this week with the announcement that midfielder Will Day will be sidelined for several months due to a stress fracture in his foot.

“It’s obviously a devastating loss for the club,” Watson commented.

“It caught us off guard. We were not anticipating it at all. It was merely a routine check-up, and it certainly didn’t turn out as we had hoped.

“This does provide an opportunity for someone like Henry Hustwaite to step in, and we hope he seizes the moment, but it’s undeniably a massive loss, and it’s left us a bit shaken.”
