Chelsea is reportedly keen to secure Jadon Sancho on a permanent basis from Manchester United, despite having the option to cancel the agreement for £5 million, according to Monday’s reports.
Sancho joined Chelsea on loan in August, with speculation suggesting there is an obligation for the Blues to complete a £25 million purchase of the winger.
However, after a bright beginning at Stamford Bridge, the 24-year-old’s form has notably faltered, leading to revelations about a potential exit for the west London club should they choose to pay the cancellation fee.
With only two goals in all competitions and none since December, Sancho has found it difficult to secure a regular spot in Enzo Maresca’s squad as they aim for Champions League qualification next season.
Despite this, reports suggest that Sancho’s permanent transfer remains likely, with Chelsea optimistic that he can rediscover the form that helped Borussia Dortmund reach the Champions League final during his loan spell last season.

Maresca has expressed his satisfaction with Sancho’s performances, admitting he has been pleasantly surprised by his progress following a tumultuous exit from Old Trafford.
Sancho’s previous season included a public disagreement with former United manager Erik ten Hag, after which he didn’t feature again until being loaned back to Dortmund.
Chelsea had also been linked with United winger Alejandro Garnacho in January and could look to bolster their options in that position during the upcoming transfer window, even if they complete Sancho’s signing.
