Canberra United’s head coach, Antoni Jagarinec, has been awarded the Ninja A-League March Coach of the Month title following a fan vote.

Jagarinec secured this accolade with a significant percentage of the fan votes, surpassing Adrian Stenta from Adelaide United, Melbourne City’s Michael Matricciani, and Jeff Hopkins of Melbourne Victory to clinch the award for April.

The Canberra head coach was nominated for the March award through the monthly nomination process by Football Coaches Australia.

The Australian Professional Leagues (APL) partnered with the FCA during the 2022-23 season to enable fans to play a vital role in acknowledging exceptional coaching performances across both the Ninja A-League Women and Isuzu UTE A-League Men.

The FCA created a knowledgeable panel to select the monthly nominees for the Coach of the Month award in both leagues, with a fan vote determining the final winner from the selected nominees.

The eligibility period for April comprised Rounds 21-23 of the Ninja A-League season, with matches held between March 28 and April 20 evaluated by the FCA voting panel.

During the eligibility period, Jagarinec managed three matches, achieving three victories as Canberra advanced to the Finals Series.

Sadly for both Canberra and Jagarinec, a 2-1 loss to the Central Coast Mariners in the Elimination Final marked the end of their campaign for the 2024-25 season.

Nevertheless, Jagarinec can reflect positively on his inaugural season in charge, having led Canberra back to the Finals Series after a year away and earning three Coach of the Month awards throughout the season in November, January, and April.
