This year’s FIFA Club World Cup is set to commence on June 14. The competition will take place at 12 locations spanning 11 cities across the United States, showcasing elite teams from around the globe, including Atletico Madrid, whose players are eager to kick things off.
Atletico Madrid stars Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezmann shared their enthusiasm regarding the prestigious tournament in an interview with DAZN, highlighting the significance of their participation in this global showcase.
“This new World Cup has me feeling incredibly excited. We are among the top teams worldwide. To compete, to be part of it, and to represent LaLiga with this club is something truly wonderful,” said Alvarez.

Griezmann Looks Forward to PSG Battle
Griezmann added to Alvarez’s excitement, stating, “What excites me most about this World Cup is that it’s the inaugural tournament. Being a part of it is a great honour for both myself and the club. We’re all looking forward to heading to the United States and kicking off our first match against Paris (PSG).
“They are performing exceptionally well, but I believe we have what it takes to challenge them. We’ve shown our capability before, winning in their home ground at the last second, so I’m hopeful for another great encounter.”
