Feyenoord’s midfielder, Antoni Milambo, is set to join Premier League club Brentford after the Rotterdam outfit accepted a bid for the young international.
Speculation surrounding Brentford’s interest in Milambo has been circulating for some time, particularly following the 20-year-old’s breakout season at Feyenoord, where he recorded six goals and six assists across 41 appearances. The west London club initially approached Milambo in January, successfully persuading him of their ambitious project.
As per multiple reputable Dutch media sources, Feyenoord has green-lighted Brentford’s latest offer of €20 million for the promising midfielder, alongside potential performance-related bonuses amounting to €5 million for the academy graduate.
Despite Feyenoord’s determination to retain Milambo, who was the youngest player ever to make his professional debut for the club, the midfielder felt it was the right time to pursue new challenges after four seasons with the senior team. He bid farewell to his teammates and club staff last Friday.
The transfer fee of €20 million marks the highest amount Feyenoord has ever received for a player aged 20.
Milambo exits Feyenoord having made 56 appearances for the first team, netting seven goals in the process. During his time with the club, he celebrated league victory in 2023 along with triumphs in the KNVB Beker and the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2024.
