David Schwarz experienced an unexpected moment during a live radio broadcast on Thursday morning, as the former Melbourne star was involved in a minor traffic incident.
The interview on SEN WA’s breakfast program took a surprising turn when the sound of his car horn blared, indicating that something had gone awry.
“Mate, I’ve just had an idiot back into me,” Schwarz exclaimed, catching his co-hosts Tim Gossage and Scott Cummings off guard.
“Can you believe it? He’s just bumped into me. What a muppet. Goodness me!”
“I just received a parking fine, and as I was pulling out, this bloke backed into me. What a goose!”
“He’s only just grazed me. I’ve got his number plate. I’ll track him down later. What a way to start the day!”

Cummings, who previously won the AFL Coleman Medal, found the situation rather entertaining, chuckling throughout the account.
Schwarz has been a consistent presence on SEN’s programming since returning to the station in 2024.
He played 173 games for Melbourne from 1991 to 2002 before making the transition to media. Schwarz recently presented jumpers to club debutants Harvey Langford, Aidan Johnson, Xavier Lindsay, Jack Henderson, Harry Sharp, and Matthew Jefferson ahead of their round one clash.
