The future of Francis Molo in the NRL has been confirmed, with the Dolphins announcing the signing of the imposing front-rower.
Molo will fulfil the rest of his contract, which runs until the end of 2025, with the Dolphins after being granted an immediate release from the Dragons.
The 30-year-old has been embroiled in a lengthy contract dispute, having taken a leave of absence from regular training since the start of the year.
However, this two-month saga has now reached a conclusion as the powerhouse prop reached an agreement on termination terms with his former club.
Initially, St George Illawarra denied Molo’s request for a release, demanding “adequate compensation” for his exit.
Reports suggested that Molo would need to repay a six-figure sum to the Dragons for his release, although the specific amount has not been disclosed.
“The Dragons have granted front-rower Francis Molo a release, effective immediately,” confirmed the club on Thursday.

“Molo has now fulfilled the club’s conditions for termination, and the Dragons have agreed to his release from the final two years of his contract.”
His addition will bolster the Dolphins’ forward pack, especially as a number of key players are approaching the twilight of their careers.
Molo has represented both the Cook Islands and Samoa internationally and has also appeared twice for the Maroons during the 2021 State of Origin Series.

Dolphins head coach Kristian Woolf expressed his delight at Molo’s signing, believing his strength will significantly benefit the team.
“We are very pleased to have Frank on board with the Dolphins,” Woolf stated.
“This opportunity fell into our laps, and we’re very grateful for it.
“Having previously worked with Frank, I know he will bring much-needed power and impact to our squad.
“This arrangement will be beneficial for both parties, and I know he, along with his young family, will be thrilled to return to Queensland.”
Molo is expected to make his debut in the Dolphins jersey in Round 5 against the Titans.
