Parma have mutually agreed to part ways with manager Cristian Chivu after a tenure of less than four months, as announced by the Serie A club on Monday.
The 44-year-old Romanian, who successfully ensured his team’s status in the top tier, is reportedly set to take over as coach of Inter Milan, where he enjoyed a seven-year playing career, according to Italian media sources.
“The Club extends its gratitude to Cristian for his contributions and for meeting the sporting goals, and wishes him all the best in his future career,” Parma stated in their announcement.
Inter Milan are now on the lookout for a new manager following the departure of Simone Inzaghi, who left by mutual agreement last week after a heavy 5-0 defeat to Paris St Germain in the Champions League final.
Inter’s Club World Cup campaign is set to kick off on June 17th against Monterrey from Mexico.
