Nick Kyrgios has announced that he will not be participating in this year’s Wimbledon tournament following another injury setback.
The controversial Australian star has faced numerous challenges with injuries over the past two years and will have to postpone his return to grand slam tennis once again.
Kyrgios had intended to make his comeback on the clay courts for the men’s doubles at Roland Garros, but he was forced to withdraw just before the tournament began due to a knee injury.
This ongoing injury has been a significant concern for the 30-year-old, who made a much-anticipated return at the Brisbane Open in January but was eliminated in a swift exit during the men’s singles draw at the Australian Open.
Despite this latest setback, Kyrgios confirmed that he will not compete in any grass court events this season.

“I’ve encountered a minor setback in my recovery and, unfortunately, I won’t be back for the grass season this year,” Kyrgios wrote on Instagram.
“I understand how much everyone has been looking forward to seeing me play, and I’m genuinely sorry to let you down. This is merely a bump in the road, and I’m already putting in the hard work to return stronger than ever.
“I truly appreciate your ongoing support; it means the world to me. I look forward to seeing you soon.”
His absence from both the French Open and Wimbledon means he has participated in just one grand slam event since reaching the quarter-finals at the US Open in 2022.
Kyrgios made his comeback in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Australian Open this year but was eliminated in a thrilling first-round match against Jacob Fearnley.
