Forward Chloe Kelly (27) and defender Lucy Parker (26) have been called up to the England squad for this month’s Women’s Nations League fixtures, stepping in for injured Arsenal players Beth Mead (29) and Lotte Wubben-Moy (26), as announced by the English FA on Monday.
Kelly, who was initially overlooked when coach Sarina Wiegman revealed the squad last week, played for Arsenal in their impressive 5-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the Women’s Super League on Sunday. This marked her return to the club on loan from Manchester City.
Arsenal manager Renee Slegers confirmed that Wubben-Moy is suffering from a muscle injury, while Mead was left as an unused substitute during the match.
Parker, who has made 11 appearances in the WSL for Aston Villa this season, is yet to earn her first cap for the national team.
England will head to Portugal for their inaugural Women’s Nations League group stage clash on Friday, before welcoming Spain on February 26th.
