Zac Lomax has been eager to cement his position in the centres, yet uncertainty remains regarding his optimal role at Parramatta.
The 25-year-old made the move from the Dragons during the off-season, despite enjoying a career-best performance last year when coach Shane Flanagan shifted him to the wing.
Lomax took to his desired position in a significant 56-18 defeat against Melbourne in round one, before transitioning between wing and centre in the clash with the Tigers.
Reports suggest that Lomax was moved around to assist debutant Jordan Samrani.
During his weekly podcast with rugby league icon Matty Johns, premiership-winning player Cooper Cronk highlighted some areas for improvement in Lomax’s defence, while expressing confusion over the backline adjustments.

“Lomax was the prominent signing of the off-season,” the Storm and Roosters legend remarked.
“His desire to excel at centre stems from spending three months honing his defensive skills for that position.

“However, he did appear vulnerable defensively against Melbourne a couple of times, and at the start of the last match, he started on the wing but attacked in the centres.
“I’m uncertain if that was a decision made by Lomax or by [head coach] Jason [Ryles], but it was perplexing to watch that unfold.”
Parramatta has encountered difficulties in the opening rounds of the season, with several key players either sidelined or playing in reserve grade.
Nonetheless, star winger Josh Addo-Carr is set to return from suspension this weekend, which will likely see Lomax occupy the centre position for the entirety of the match.
