Western Sydney Wanderers’ defender Anthony Pantazopoulos has secured a two-year contract extension, ensuring his presence at the Isuzu UTE A-League club for the upcoming seasons.
The 21-year-old defender joined the Wanderers in 2023 and has experienced a stellar season under the management of the club’s new head coach, Alen Stajcic, in 2024-25.
Pantazopoulos has featured in 14 of his 17 Isuzu UTE A-League matches this season, establishing himself as a key player within the Wanderers’ backline.

The young defender, who netted his first goal in the A-Leagues against Macarthur Bulls on New Year’s Day, expressed that his affection for the club and its supporters made the choice to extend his contract straightforward.
“My aim for the next two years is to continue learning from my teammates as it will ultimately benefit both me and the team in the long run; that’s my primary focus,” he stated.
“The Wanderers have become my home. Residing in Western Sydney now, I feel a special bond with our members and supporters, which invigorates me for every match. I’m not just playing for myself; I’m representing the entire community, which truly motivates me.”
“Wearing this jersey is something extraordinary, whether we’re winning matches and heading over to the RBB or witnessing the joy on kids’ faces. It means a lot to me as we bring them happiness throughout the week. Their smiles allow them to go to school or work the next day feeling elated. The responsibility of that joy inspires me to deliver my best.”
“I absolutely love playing for this club.”
