The Parramatta Eels have emerged victorious in the competition to secure Tallyn Da Silva’s signature, as the promising young talent prepares to depart from the Wests Tigers, as reported by The Sydney Morning Herald.
The 20-year-old had until the deadline of June 30 to sign a contract if he intended to make a mid-season transfer, following the news last week that he could negotiate with other clubs.
Discussions commenced on Wednesday between Da Silva’s management and interested teams, while Tigers head coach Benji Marshall acknowledged the club’s intention to extend the contract of captain Api Koroisau.
Parramatta and Manly were in the forefront of the pursuit to acquire Da Silva’s services, alongside Newcastle, who were the first to express interest in facilitating an early release from the Tigers.

There were also suggestions that the Cowboys might be a potential destination for Da Silva, however, the young player preferred to remain close to his Sydney family.
Manly were informed on Sunday afternoon that Da Silva had decided to accept the offer from the Eels, as per the report.
A formal agreement between Parramatta and Da Silva is expected to be finalised on Monday.
In joining Parramatta, Da Silva follows in the footsteps of his mate and fellow Tigers junior, Lachlan Galvin, who has also departed the club this year.
