“Not great.”
Those were the words of Wayne Bennett following the heavy defeat his Rabbitohs faced against the Knights during Magic Round.
However, during a later part of his press conference, the coach elaborated on South Sydney’s mentality as they dealt with a four-game losing streak.

“Absolutely, it’s about attitude,” he stated.
Bennett then engaged in a dialogue with a reporter regarding how to tackle the situation, suggesting that the solution was beyond his control.
“How can I adjust your attitude? I can’t. Can I change your attitude? I can’t,” he remarked.
“It’s personal.
“They need to address it themselves. They have to take ownership first.”
Tevita Tatola, the Rabbitohs’ stand-in captain, echoed his sentiments.
“It comes down to attitude,” he noted.

With a number of players, including Jamie Humphreys and Cody Walker, sidelined, all eyes were on English recruit Lewis Dodd.
The halfback made his starting debut but found it challenging to leave his mark on the game.
Dodd managed 80 metres from 12 runs but missed four tackles. Known for his kicking prowess, he only kicked six times for 139 metres, whereas his halves partner, Jayden Sullivan, managed to kick for 407 metres across 13 attempts.
Nevertheless, Bennett wasn’t overly harsh when asked to evaluate Dodd’s performance.
“He was just like many other players out there—he wasn’t at his peak,” he commented.
