Midfielder Amy Chessari has officially extended her stay with the Wanderers, signing a fresh one-year contract ahead of the Ninja A-League 2025-26 season.
A pivotal player for the team last season, Chessari featured in 22 out of 23 matches, showcasing her importance under both former coach Robbie Hooker and the newly appointed Geoff Abrahams.
As the anchor of the Wanderers’ midfield, Chessari led the league in tackles among midfielders, and she’s expressed her excitement about continuing her journey with the club in their iconic Red and Black colours.
“This team has incredible potential to contend for the title,” Chessari remarked following her contract signing.
“We’ve consistently demonstrated the quality and depth within our squad, and I’m dedicated to doing my part to guide this team in the right direction.”
“I’m committed to furthering my development as a player and will do everything in my power to help the team attain the success it deserves.”
“I want to extend my gratitude to the Western Sydney Wanderers for giving me my initial opportunity in the A-Leagues, and a huge thank you to the members and fans for their steadfast support throughout the season. Stick with us as we work hard to deliver the victories this team and our supporters truly deserve.”

“I’m particularly thankful to my family and friends for their endless love and encouragement.”
“A special thanks to my Dad, who was the first to kick the ball with me as a young girl and ignited my passion for this beautiful game.”
After initially joining the Wanderers on a scholarship prior to the 2022-23 season, the 21-year-old Chessari has seen significant growth both personally and professionally in Western Sydney, solidifying her role as a vital component under Abrahams’ leadership.

“Amy embodies all that we stand for at this club: professionalism, humility, and an unwavering work ethic,” said Abrahams.
“She has secured her position through her consistency and determination. We are immensely proud of the progress she has made over the past few seasons and are eager to see her take on an even larger role in the club’s journey to success.”
Chessari’s re-signing follows the recent news of 2024 Julie Dolan Medallist Sophie Harding departing the club after requesting an early termination of her Wanderers contract for personal reasons.
