Harry Wilson has no intention of playing anywhere else over the next four years except on the rugby pitch with the Wallabies and the Queensland Reds.
Following a standout season in Test rugby, Wilson has signed a four-year contract extension with both the Wallabies and the Reds, securing his spot in the team until the end of 2029.
This signing serves as a significant boost for the Wallabies as they gear up for what is being hailed as a “golden decade” of international competitions, including a home World Cup in 2027.
The Australian captain noted that there was no rush to finalise his future in the sport, especially with his current contract set to expire at the close of 2025.
He emphasised that his aspirations for the future lie solely in the colours of this club.
“This is the one place I wanted to be,” Wilson stated.

“I aim to dedicate the prime years of my rugby career to achieving success with the Reds and the gold jersey. Competing in a home World Cup (in 2027) is a dream scenario.
“I didn’t converse with any other club. I didn’t want to be the Wallabies captain who was exploring options abroad.
“I’m the current captain of the Wallabies. What kind of example am I setting by not committing to staying in Australia while telling others to do the same?
“I’m thrilled. There’s no external distractions as we head into the new season. I can just focus on playing rugby.”
His signing coincides with the approach of the Reds’ Super Rugby Pacific season opener against Moana Pasifika at Suncorp Stadium.

Les Kiss, head coach of the Queensland Reds, expressed his joy and admiration for the innate leadership Wilson brings to the team.
“This is a tremendous show of faith in our Reds program from Harry,” Kiss commented.
“He’s an exceptional figure to mentor our younger forwards.
“His natural leadership is unmistakable, and you can truly feel the difference he makes in the locker room.
“This news will be received warmly by fans, stakeholders, and everyone in the squad.”
