The Victorian Government has announced its commitment to fund Motorsport Australia’s Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program across the state.
This initiative represents a $100,000 investment spread over two years, forming part of the Victorian Government’s Inclusive Participation Project Funding under the Together More Active initiative.

Sunil Vohra, the CEO of Motorsport Australia, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Victorian Government, recognising its dedication to fostering active community sporting participation.
“The Victorian Government’s backing of the Women’s Introduction to Motorsport program underscores the importance of creating pathways for greater involvement, promoting and facilitating increased engagement in motorsport within local communities,” Vohra stated.
“We are delighted to collaborate with the Victorian Government to further enhance motorsport activities across Victoria.”

The Hon Ros Spence MP, Victorian Minister for Community Sport, congratulated Motorsport Australia on its successful funding application.
“The Allan Labor Government is committed to supporting motorsport and enhancing the participation of women within the motorsport community. This funding will aid in attracting and growing involvement across all levels of motorsport in Victoria,” Minister Spence remarked.
“The Together More Active Program aligns with the Labor Government’s Active Victoria strategy, which outlines the state’s priorities for sport and recreation, enabling even more individuals to enjoy the sports they love.”

In collaboration with Victorian clubs, this initiative aims to tackle common obstacles to participation, giving women an opportunity to experience the sport by getting behind the wheel of their own vehicles.
Participants will be guided by seasoned motorsport professionals, learning vehicle preparation, essential car control techniques through various track exercises, and gaining valuable insights from experienced members of the grassroots motorsport community.
Over the next two years, this program will equip women with the skills, confidence, and a welcoming introduction to motorsport.
Furthermore, over 1,500 current members from affiliated clubs will also benefit from a stronger support network and community infrastructure.
