Chad Warner’s future with the Sydney Swans has been confirmed, as the club has secured the talented midfielder for an additional two seasons.
The 23-year-old had been the subject of intense speculation regarding a potential move back to Western Australia in recent months, but has now signed a new contract that will keep him in the red and white until 2027.
It is understood that both the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle Dockers were vying for his signature.
This new deal is estimated to be worth $1.4 million per season.
As stated by Tom Morris from 9News Melbourne, both the Swans’ management and Warner’s teammates were optimistic for some time that he would choose to recommit.
The Swans officially announced the news on Thursday afternoon.
“I’m really happy to be staying,” Warner commented.
“I’ve cherished every moment of my time at the Swans, and I’m eager for what lies ahead.
“Since my arrival six years ago, everyone—the players, coaches, and staff—welcomed me and made me feel at home. I have great confidence in the direction we are heading and know we have exciting times ahead.”
Warner has scored 85 goals in 89 games for the Swans since debuting in the 2020 season, and he was selected in the All-Australian team last year.

“Chad is an exceptional talent with a remarkable work ethic, and we are thrilled to have him commit to Sydney for another two years,” said general manager Leon Cameron.
“He is highly regarded and respected within our playing group, having been a vital contributor in our midfield for several seasons.
“At just 23, Chad has already made a significant impact, and with his best football still ahead of him, we look forward to watching his development continue in Sydney.”
The Swans will face the Gold Coast Suns on Sunday afternoon.
