Thomas Tuchel has significantly influenced the England national team, establishing strong connections with a wide array of players in a remarkably short period, as stated by FA chief Mark Bullingham in an interview with the BBC.
The former manager of Chelsea and Bayern Munich is set to lead England for the first time in their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia later this month.
“Thomas has made an exceptional impact. He has truly energised the team and incorporated some of his own personnel into our existing setup, and they’re meshing well,” Bullingham remarked in an interview published on Thursday.
“He’s formed excellent relationships with the players and has attended numerous matches. His enthusiasm is palpable, and things are progressing positively.”
Tuchel has also been proactive in reaching out to players competing abroad.
“He hasn’t just focused on the players in England; he’s made an effort to connect with those playing overseas. This will certainly benefit us in the long run,” Bullingham noted.
“He recognised early on that you cannot forge these connections in the brief period you have together… so he’s dedicated a significant amount of effort to this.”
“We’re extremely pleased with what he’s achieving. It feels like he’s hit the ground running and is already doing an incredible job.”
