The forwards for the Sharks are determined to lighten the load for their star signing, Addin Fonua-Blake, to ensure he remains energized for the crucial matches as the season approaches its climax.
The former Warriors prop has proven to be a valuable asset for the Sharks, consistently leading the charge in the early weeks of the competition.
In a narrow victory against the Eels during Magic Round, Fonua-Blake racked up an impressive 140 metres with the ball, outpacing all forwards from Cronulla.
However, his teammates are aware of the potential for fatigue over a grueling season and are keen on reducing the strain on the towering front-rower.

“Addin has been immense for us, both on and off the pitch,” stated in-form back-rower Briton Nikora in a chat with Wide World of Sports.
“His leadership is a tremendous asset, particularly for the younger players, but we can definitely manage him better – we recognise that.”
“We don’t want to rely solely on him and it’s important we keep him fresh and fit for the crucial matches that matter most.”
“It’s up to the rest of us in the forward pack to lift our game and make sure he doesn’t need to overexert himself.”

Nikora is enjoying the best form of his career with the Sharks, capitalising on well-timed passes from halves Nicho Hynes and Braydon Trindall to wreak havoc on opposing defences.
“I’ve been playing with these guys for a few seasons now, so we understand each other’s styles,” the Kiwi star remarked.

“They possess the ball skills, and it’s my job to run the appropriate lines. I’m pleased with how everything is unfolding.”
Cronulla faces a significant challenge to their credentials with a match against Manly at Brookvale on Sunday.
“Winning there is never easy as they have a strong team, so we’ll need to be at our very best,” Nikora commented.
