Telstar maintained their aspirations of a first Eredivisie appearance since 1978 by securing a 2-1 victory over FC Den Bosch after 120 minutes, earning their place in the play-off finals.
Following a lacklustre 0-0 draw in ‘s Hertogenbosch, Telstar capitalised on their home advantage in the return leg. However, the Velsen-Zuid outfit were slow to exploit this benefit, with Teun van Grunsven giving the visitors the lead in just the 18th minute via a corner.

Youssef El Kachati, the star player, levelled the score for Telstar by converting a penalty in the 30th minute.
Neither team managed to break the deadlock within the regulation 90 minutes, necessitating an additional 30 minutes to determine who would advance to the finals scheduled for Thursday and Sunday.
It was Telstar who sent their home fans into raptures again on Friday night. El Kachati embarked on an impressive solo run down the left wing but failed to score. Fortunately, his teammate Danny Bakker found the net with a close-range finish in the 109th minute.
FC Den Bosch pushed for a comeback, but their playoff campaign came to an end in the semi-finals. Telstar’s hopes of reaching the Eredivisie remain alive after a tense 120 minutes, and they will face Eredivisie side Willem II in the finals.
