It was a moment Jim Dymock never anticipated, but three decades after his own premiership triumph, he witnessed his daughter wearing the same colours he once proudly donned.
The former Bulldogs star was in the stands as the club’s first-ever NRLW side celebrated a stunning 26-12 win over the Newcastle Knights.
Among the players on the field was a dynamic prop—his daughter, Tegan Dymock.
This 22-year-old is set to continue her father’s legacy at the Bulldogs for the next two seasons, aspiring to follow in his footsteps across all facets of the game.
“With the surname Dymock, rugby league has always been a significant part of my life,” she shared with Nine ahead of the season.
“I had my favourites, but my dad was my ultimate hero. I only hope to be half the player he was.”
“He would often talk about how the Bulldogs embody a family spirit, and now I truly understand what that means.”

Every time Tegan steps into Belmore, she is greeted by an image of her father from the 1995 premiership match.
Now she takes pride in reinstating the “Dymock” name at the club.
“I’m truly proud of the girls and delighted we secured the win today,” Tegan expressed to Nine after the match.
“It’s fantastic to wear the blue and white.”

Having made her NRLW debut with the Dragons in 2021 and subsequently joining the Sharks in 2023, Tegan noted, “I’ve always supported the Bulldogs.”
Yet her father, a Clive Churchill medallist, still finds it hard to believe.
“As a father of four daughters, I never imagined this moment,” Jim told Nine after the game.
“To watch one of my kids play at the footy—it’s surreal. I’m immensely proud and joyful for her and the team.
“It’s been an incredible journey; she’s been around a few clubs before finding her way to Canterbury. I believe it’s the perfect fit for her, and I hope she excels this season.”
