Manly’s impressive win against the Raiders was overshadowed by a serious injury to Taniela Paseka, which could potentially end his season.
The prop collapsed upon making contact midway through the first half.
Referee Grant Atkins was heard informing the Bunker that it appeared to be an Achilles injury, as Paseka was assisted off the field by medical staff.
“What a shame,” commentator Warren Smith remarked on Fox League.
Greg Alexander later added: “It’s a terrible blow for Manly because he plays a pivotal role for them, and if it turns out to be an Achilles injury, that could mean the end of his season.”

It was later confirmed that Paseka had indeed ruptured his Achilles, which will require a recovery period of at least five months.
Despite this significant setback, Manly surged ahead in his absence.
Corey Horsburgh’s sin binning in the 21st minute resulted in a remarkable 24-point haul, with Ethan Bullemor scoring two tries, while Reuben Garrick and Jake Simpkin each added one.

Manly were not finished yet, with Garrick crossing for another try just before half-time, extending the score to 30-0.
He went on to add two more tries after the break.
Consolation tries from Sebastian Kris and Hudson Young for the Raiders brought some relief, but Manly ultimately triumphed with a convincing 40-12 victory.
