Bulgaria’s PFC Ludogorets have acquired Swedish defender Joel Andersson, aged 28, from FC Midtjylland.
An integral part of FC Midtjylland since joining from BK Häcken in the summer of 2018, Andersson has accumulated 221 appearances with the former Danish champions.
Over time, Andersson has developed into a reliable and committed defender, significantly contributing to the team’s success.
“Joel has been an outstanding player for FC Midtjylland during his tenure. His versatility and skills have consistently made a positive impact in matches, particularly when adapting to new roles as needed. He has propelled the club forward, leaving behind a legacy well worth celebrating,” commented sporting director Kristian Bak.
During his stint in Herning, Andersson netted six goals and provided 28 assists. He played a pivotal role in securing two Danish championships and two national cup titles, participating in both the Champions League and Europa League group stages.
“Having played numerous matches for FCM, I particularly cherish the Champions League group stage games and the play-off against Slavia Prague as unforgettable experiences. It truly was magical,” stated Joel Andersson.
“The championships hold immense significance for me—some memories will last a lifetime. The club’s ambition and relentless pursuit of victory have always motivated me. At FC Midtjylland, there’s an expectation to perform consistently, and I have valued that,” remarked Andersson.
