Sevens sensation Charlotte Caslick is set to make her eagerly awaited debut for the Queensland Reds against the NSW Waratahs this Sunday in Brisbane.
Considered Australia’s finest sevens player, Caslick is aiming for selection in the Wallaroos squad for this year’s Rugby World Cup in England.
The experienced athlete confirmed on Wednesday that she would be joining the Reds for the duration of the Super Rugby Women’s season.

“Charlotte is a world-class athlete,” Reds head coach Andrew Fraser commented. “Her incredible speed combined with the knowledge she’s gained over more than a decade makes her a thrilling addition. She is keen to make an impact, and I think the fans at Ballymore on Sunday will be in for an exciting display of what our sevens players bring to the field.”

“We were extremely impressed with the performances of our fellow sevens stars Teagan (Levi), Kahli (Henwood), and Bella (Nasser) during their match against the Drua,” added Fraser.
Caslick has been named as a utility back on the bench and is likely to step onto the field as a fullback or in a more attacking role.
The Reds secured a narrow 22-19 win against the Fijian Drua during their season opener.

The reigning champions, the Waratahs, currently hold a record of 1-1 after losing to the Drua, only to stage a comeback to defeat the Western Force.
“It’s a derby match, so we’re anticipating a hard-hitting clash,” remarked Waratahs coach Mike Ruthven. “We believe we’ve selected a squad that can handle the physicality involved in contact situations. While we haven’t concentrated too much on the history of the rivalry between the Waratahs and the Reds, we treat every match in this competition like a grand final. Our priority is to deliver an enhanced performance compared to our past two games.”
