Spencer Leniu and Ezra Mam have seemingly resolved their differences 16 months after the notorious racism incident in Las Vegas.
Leniu received an eight-match suspension for calling Mam a “monkey” during the first round of the 2024 season.
Post-Origin II, the pair were spotted sharing a heartfelt embrace, with Leniu representing the Blues and Mam serving as Queensland’s 18th man.
According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Leniu offered an apology to Mam regarding the racially charged incident.

“It’s fantastic that Spencer and I had the opportunity to meet face to face last night,” Mam shared with the Herald.
“Regarding the racial vilification matter, that’s behind us now. We’ve moved on.
“There was a report suggesting I felt I was being booed at Brookvale due to this incident, but that’s not accurate. I understand the context and reasoning behind it, and I’ll keep striving to be a better person and make the right decisions.”

Maroons star and Mam’s teammate at the Broncos, Patrick Carrigan, was also present, watching as Leniu and Mam conversed.
Carrigan was among the Broncos players who approached Leniu at the hotel in Las Vegas after the match.
