Macarthur Bulls’ skipper Luke Brattan has confirmed he will be staying in Campbelltown by signing a one-year contract extension, as announced by the club.
The 35-year-old midfielder made the switch to Macarthur from Sydney FC in preparation for the 2024-25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
This past season was particularly significant for Brattan, as he surpassed the 300-game milestone in the competition. He also etched his name in history with the Subway Socceroos, becoming the oldest player to debut for Australia in an ‘A’ international since 1963 when he took his place in the starting lineup for the Socceroos’ World Cup qualifier against Japan in October.

Brattan’s journey with Macarthur kicked off with an Australia Cup victory in late September, marking the third such title in his career.
This Australia Cup win was pivotal in securing Macarthur’s place in the 2025-26 AFC Asian Champions League. Upon confirming his contract extension, Brattan expressed enthusiasm for the exciting challenges ahead in Asia as the Bulls aim to compete on multiple fronts next season.
“It’s fantastic to extend my stay with the team after winning the Australia Cup last year. We’re eager to build on that success and aim for more silverware,” remarked Brattan.
“(Macarthur) is an incredible club filled with wonderful people. I’m thrilled about its bright future, and I want to be part of that journey.”
“I look forward to representing Macarthur again in Asia. Our targets this year are to improve on last season and compete fiercely for every trophy available.”
