The teams are SET ahead of the concluding round of the 2024-25 Ninja A-League regular season.
In a historic moment for Sydney FC, the Sky Blues will not participate in the Ninja A-League finals for the first time ever. However, they do have two reasons to celebrate as they prepare to face Adelaide United on Friday night; both Kirsty Fenton and Kyah Simon are set to return from lengthy injury layoffs, making their season debuts.
Younger Matildas defender Fenton has been sidelined since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury against Wellington Phoenix in March 2024. Having returned to training last month, she is eager to make her much-anticipated comeback against the Reds this Friday night. Matildas veteran Simon, who joined Sydney FC in the off-season, has also been affected by injuries and is yet to play for the club this season.
Adelaide will welcome back star forward Erin Healy, providing a timely boost to the Reds as they approach finals.
