Motorsport Australia wishes to update competitors on an essential safety and regulatory change concerning the fuels allowed for SXS competitions.
Following endorsement by the Australian Off Road Commission (AORCOM), new measures have been established to tackle issues related to the amount of fuel competitors are permitted to carry during events.
Consequently, E85 and similar ethanol-based fuels will no longer be allowed within SXS classifications. Moving forward, competitors are required to use exclusively Pump Fuel, as outlined in Schedule G of the Motorsport Australia Manual.
This move underscores Motorsport Australia’s commitment to ensuring safety for everyone in the motorsport arena—including competitors, officials, and spectators. It upholds the integrity of the competition while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Motorsport Australia is devoted to fostering a secure and equitable Off Road racing environment at club, state, and national levels. Safety remains a top priority for all competitors, and we encourage everyone to familiarise themselves with the updated regulations before forthcoming events.
