PSV, the Eredivisie champions, have reportedly shifted their focus to Championship Player of the Year Gustavo Hamer as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
The 28-year-old Hamer made a move to Sheffield United in 2023 for €17 million after leaving Coventry City. Following Sheffield’s relegation in 2024, the Brazilian-born Dutch player was awarded the Championship Player of the Year title, having scored nine goals and provided seven assists throughout the regular season.
As reported by the reputable Eindhoven Dagblad’s Rik Elfrink, Hamer’s name has emerged on the radar of PSV Eindhoven, who admire his versatility.
With Malik Tillman said to be in negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen, the 26-time champions may need to secure a new midfielder in the near future.
Elfrink indicates that PSV may have to part with around €10 million to acquire Hamer, who is contracted with Sheffield United until 2027.
