Eredivisie champions PSV Eindhoven have reportedly issued an ultimatum to their star player, Ivan Perisic, regarding his future.
The former World Cup finalist joined PSV on a one-year contract after making a free transfer in September 2024. He made a significant impact towards the end of the season, netting seven goals and providing three assists in the final eight league matches, helping PSV clinch the Dutch Eredivisie title after overcoming a 9-point gap to Ajax.
Perisic expressed his joy after securing his fourth league title, but the 36-year-old remains ambiguous about his future plans. “We’ll see. I’ll make that decision with my family,” he stated following the title-winning 3-1 victory over Sparta Rotterdam in May.
Post-season, speculation has emerged regarding a potential interest from FC Barcelona in the Croatian veteran. Manager Hans-Dieter Flick is said to be an enthusiastic admirer of Perisic, who finished the season with 16 goals and nine assists across 35 matches in all competitions.
As PSV awaits Perisic’s decision, the 26-time Dutch champions are believed to have given him a deadline to determine his future. According to the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Perisic has until June 30th to decide whether to continue at Eindhoven or leave the club after just one season.
Additionally, Mundo Deportivo’s Gabriel Sans indicates that Perisic is willing to accept a reduced salary to join FC Barcelona.
